Hi Zach,

Running the monthly Commish,Exchange and NFA fee numbers has quickly approached the 14.74% range. If you were on my desk we would be having a calm but serious talk Monday morning.

I would be explaining to you our monthly goals are to keep these costs in the 8% to 9% range and the best way to accomplish these goals is to be patient" 'trading only the best setups with the least risk and let the winners run until a real reason for exiting a trade exists.

Anytime a trader on my desk goes above 13% in a month I explain calmly the above paragraph" 'rise above the 15.5% levels then you risk my calmness and yourself going out the window.

We have all "been there done that" in our careers as traders... even after 20 something years as a trader I still catch myself once in awhile with "tunnel Vision" for what the charts tell me but clear, defined, set in stone trading rules keep damage to minimums.

The more important item deduced from reading the Cowboy trade journal seems to me a failure in method to recognize either choppy distribution or accumulation market sentiment and lack of longer term momentum which in my opinion screams to lower position risk size and time in positions on the time frames traded - Hope that made sense to you. I think you should speak with or reference Raghee Horner on the finer points of Distribution to accumulation market psychology to sentiment to momentum and the learned ability to recognize each.

Not trying to sound like a smart A$$ here but deciding not to trade overnight sessions because you sucked one time should have NO bearing on the decision. It screams more review and study is needed" 'I say Simulator trade the overnight session writing down the reason for taking a trade, possible targets along with possible tiered in and out scaled positions and most important the plan for when the trade goes against the plan before any trade is ever made. I understand the markets can move fast on the short time frames we trade sometimes but the steps above are imperative until they become ingrained within the trader.

1. Be more patient on entries -- wait for where you would add that second contract in your trade plan/set up and enter the first two contracts there -- if it doesn't get there it doesn't -- ask yourself -- and measure -- what is your average adverse draw down on your first contract -- and wait and take both contracts there -- higher probability and the ability to scale out one to reenter on a pullback or retracement -- patience -- the second mouse gets the cheese.
2. Don't write off London -- crude consistently reverses around 3 a.m. for 25-50 ticks -- less sculldugery that the NY session as well.
3. Know your stop before you enter and DO NOT MOVE IT. You can reenter with the click of the mouse for the cost of a cup of coffee
4. Take pride in being the second mouse

first couple weeks of college is the oddest but most exciting time in a young persons life. full of possibilities. Stock market will always be there it never changes. ill ping ya by email and see how its all going.

You're an extremely bright young man, and I just wanted to pop in and give my appreciation for the attitude you've displayed. At your age, or "especially" your age, you are showing an incredible amount of maturity, discipline, and focus. While I have always seen myself as a competitor, learner, and driven young person, it's humbling to see someone truly as dedicated as you when it comes to the trading world. Kudos to your goals and I hope you enjoy the next few years of life because.... college is going to be one heck of a ride.

Anyway, I'll be keeping up with your posts. Keep up the hard work and find time to enjoy the company around you. Keep being a sponge and enjoy college.

I kinda of blew it today also. something that has really helped me from jumping in to late or to early is watching the RSI 15 or RSI 20 any time frame it will start trending down before the top is in warning of a pull back, also works for bottoms, the best trades are off of support and resistance. IMHO... Home work is draw trend lines and FIBS. Find support and resistance Try to pick the best points to trade from before hand and when it gets there execute whether long or short. You will see the volume pops near those points on a 1 or 5 min charts (smart traders). Know you daily pivots also. I like how chesswine says chess moves... that's what it is.. think 3 moves ahead at all times
